At Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health, we pride ourselves on having a team with diverse clinical backgrounds that enrich the patient experience. Today, we are highlighting Halie Sawyers, ASW, MSW, who has been an essential part of the ARBH family for four years and is now stepping into the role of Junior Lead Therapist.
A Unique Clinical Journey
Halie brings five years of inpatient psychiatric experience to her new position, but her path to social work started with a different kind of connection. She originally served as a Music Therapist before furthering her education to become a Master of Social Work.
This background in expressive therapy gives Halie a unique advantage in her clinical practice:
- Building Rapport: Using creative avenues to connect with patients who may find traditional talk therapy challenging.
- Quality Interventions: Designing and leading expressive group therapy sessions that promote emotional release and coping skills.
- Holistic Safety Planning: Drawing on her additional experience in school and community mental health to help patients create individualized aftercare plans for long-term success.
Supporting the ARBH Team
As Junior Lead Therapist, Halie is dedicated to more than just patient outcomes; she is a pillar of support for her colleagues. She is passionate about fostering a collaborative atmosphere and ensuring that the inpatient units remain a positive environment for both the clinical staff and those in our care.
Kentucky Roots and California Trails
When she isn’t at the hospital, Halie is a true explorer. She is an avid hiker and musician who also finds time to get lost in a good book. As a “cat mom,” she enjoys a full house, but she frequently travels back to her home state of Kentucky to stay connected with her close-knit circle of friends and family.
