Parenting a teenager rarely comes with a manual. Most parents in South Orange County have had a moment — a shift in mood, a change in sleep, a conversation that didn’t quite land — where they wondered whether it was worth asking someone about. Knowing where to turn, and what local support actually looks like, makes that first step a lot easier.
On Monday, August 31, 2026, Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health is hosting a free Parent/Teen Mental Health Resource Night at our newly remodeled outpatient building in Aliso Viejo. It’s a relaxed, drop-in evening designed for families with teens — no referral, no appointment, and no cost to attend.

What to expect
- Tour our newly remodeled outpatient program
- Walk through the space where care actually happens. Seeing the building, the group rooms, and the layout ahead of time removes a lot of the unknown for families who may consider outpatient services down the road.
- A workshop for parents
- Led by Debra Scheevel, LCSW, Director of Outpatient Services, this session is built around the questions parents most often bring to us: how to open a conversation with a teenager, what to watch for, and how to tell the difference between ordinary adolescence and something that deserves a closer look.
- Interactive workshops for teens
- Our Licensed Social Workers lead sessions designed for adolescents themselves — practical, conversational, and built for the way teens actually talk about stress, school, friendships, and pressure.
- Meet the team
- Our clinicians will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions, talk through what programs look like day to day, and simply introduce themselves. Food and beverages will be served.
Why we’re hosting this
Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health serves families across Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, and the surrounding South Orange County communities. What we hear again and again is that parents don’t always know what’s available locally until they’re already in a difficult moment.
This evening is meant to change that order of operations. Come learn what exists in your community before you need it. Ask the questions you’ve been sitting on. Meet the people who would be caring for your family if you ever did reach out.
About our outpatient programs
While you’re here, our team can walk you through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — structured outpatient options for adolescents and adults who need more support than weekly therapy but do not require inpatient care. There’s no pressure to enroll in anything; the goal of the evening is information, not intake.
