Empowering Student Wellness: Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health Joins Irvine Valley College for Mental Health Resource Fair
At Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health, we believe that community connection is the foundation of recovery and wellness. This past Tuesday, April 21, we were honored to participate in the Mental Health Resource Fair at Irvine Valley College (IVC), held in the heart of the campus at the SSC Quad.
The event served as a vital “safe space” for students to engage with community partners, raise awareness about mental health challenges, and learn how to support one another.
Supporting Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a national campaign dedicated to ending sexual violence. This year’s fair at IVC was a cornerstone of that mission, providing students with resources regarding:
- Affirmative Consent: Understanding the importance of clear, voluntary, and enthusiastic agreement.
- Prevention: Strategies to end and prevent sexual assault on campus.
- Survivor Support: Providing a network of care for those who have been affected by violence.
Aliso Ridge in the Community
Our very own Jojo Guzman, Clinical Relations Specialist, was on-site at the Aliso Ridge booth throughout the event. Jojo spent the afternoon connecting directly with the IVC student body, offering professional insights into our behavioral health services and providing educational materials on mental health maintenance.
“Events like these are critical,” Jojo shared. “Being on campus allows us to meet students where they are, break down the stigma surrounding mental health, and ensure they know they have a local partner in their wellness journey.”
Our Commitment to Students
College is a time of immense growth, but it can also be a period of significant stress and vulnerability. Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health is committed to being a reliable resource for students in Orange County. Whether through crisis intervention, inpatient care, or outpatient programs, we are here to provide the support needed to navigate life’s most difficult seasons.
We want to thank the team at Irvine Valley College for hosting such a meaningful event and for their tireless work in promoting a culture of consent and care on campus.
